Monument to Dandelion in Podolsk
In the city of Podolsk near Moscow, on the International Children’s Day on June 1, 2018, a monument to goodness “Dandelion” was solemnly unveiled. The installation of this symbol of kindness is the contribution of the famous Russian sculptor Grigory Viktorovich Pototsky in the struggle for peace, against terror and aggression.
The monument was opened on the territory of the Children’s City Hospital of the city.
The sculptor said: “Every person lives as well as he is kind. Kindness is the main law of mankind. Having solved these simple truths for myself, I created a symbol of kindness a dandelion. These are open children’s palms, open eyes a symbol of kindness understandable to all denominations.”
Bronze construction of a dandelion 3 meters high. Each dandelion stamen is an open palm with an eye. The author believes that the “eye” is a symbol of an open heart. If hearts are open, if all people on the planet are kind to each other, this will strengthen the relationship between countries and peoples. A palm with an eye is an ancient symbol that dates back to the Thracians.
Christina Ojuland (Minister of Foreign Affairs, 2002-2005) at the opening of the first symbol of kindness said: “And now the seeds of Dandelion kindness will scatter all over the world, and nothing and nothing can uproot it.” So “Dandelion” began to walk triumphantly around the world. Now the Dandelion monument stands in many cities and countries of the world.
There is a tradition when opening a composition. All comers Grigory Pototsky asks to put their palms on the bronze palms. According to him, it will make the world kinder and better. People approach “Dandelion” with open hearts and willingly put their palms on bronze palms, feeling the warmth and unity of all people on the planet.
