In Baranavichy there are several sculptures that are not monuments or even sculptures in the usual sense. I have always experienced difficulties: what should I call them? You can call them decorative art objects, but it turns out somehow long and overly pretentious.

One of these sculptures is a frog installed at the entrance to the store on Lenin Street. As is often the case, neither the name of the author, nor the exact time of its installation could be found out.

But we can say for sure that the current frog is the second. The first one was torn off and kidnapped by some malefactors in the summer of 2012. Neither her nor the vandals could be found, even despite the announced rather significant ransom. I would like to hope that it was not handed over for scrap, but was attached somewhere in the courtyard of some country house.

Considering that the frog fell in love with the townspeople and guests of the city, its owner decided to restore it. Like the old frog, the new one is also made of metal, but a little more “tall” and, it is said, has a more reliable fastening system.
