Monument to Private Announcement – one of the unusual monuments of Russia

This Monument to Private announcement is not just a decoration, but a reminder of long-standing habits that people do not want to give up and these leaflets of advertisements still hang on the walls of houses, poles, fences, etc.

On the brass plate of the monument to a private announcement it is written: “Changing an English childhood (county ruins, a school rugby team, a London museum of childhood, an Elvis haircut) for a childhood spent in Russia (Eaglet bike, after-school school, soda, a rose of cake in Read in 1951). There are tear-off sheets with a phone number on the ad. One of the leaves has been torn off.

The author of the project of this unusual monument is the Nizhny Novgorod journalist and writer Vladimir Klimychev. He is also the author of the text of the ad. The installation of the monument was carried out by the editors of the newspaper of private announcements “From hand to hand”.

The author of the project said: “Everything turned out so smoothly, although I announced my proposal to a Nizhny Novgorod publisher 4 years ago. He publishes an ad newspaper, so he was able to appreciate my idea. And here is the result.”
