All over the world there are a huge number of places where people come from all over the world to make their most cherished and innermost desire. Of course, there are such amazing and magical places in Belarus too. For example, one of the most popular is the Mogilev Astrologer, which appeared in this regional center 10 years ago.

By the way, such a monument to the stars and the universe exists in a single copy, you will not find anything similar in the whole world! This sculptural composition represents an unusual large sundial along with the figure of a man who can predict the future from the stars. This monument has become a real Mogilev alley of stars, like the one in Hollywood.

Mogilev has a fairly high tourist potential, there is something to see here: ancient Orthodox and Catholic architecture, and interesting museums and educational excursions will appeal to even the most sophisticated traveler. But the local square of stars is considered the most popular place not only among tourists, but also among local residents. It is here that the names and surnames of famous personalities are forever immortalized on the pavement in the form of stars.

In the early 2000s, local authorities decided to diversify the city’s monuments with something unique and unusual. Especially for this, they invited the famous and talented Belarusian sculptor Vladimir Zhbanov, who is famous for his inimitable skill to embody human faces through stone and metal. For example, a girl with an umbrella, a stationmaster, a lady with a dog and a photographer who adorn the capital of Belarus belong to the talented hands of this particular master. So the Mogilev astrologer became another creation of Zhbanov. What did he end up like?

The Astrologer sat comfortably on a high massive chair, pointing to the sky with his index finger. Near it is an essential attribute of any astrologer – a telescope, which is also an arrow from a sundial. Every evening, a powerful spotlight is turned on in the telescope, the light beam of which is directed upwards. Surprisingly, his strength is enough to see a small white dot on Earth from space – this is how Mogilev “shows” itself. Near the Astrologer there are also 12 chairs, each of which symbolizes a certain sign of the zodiac.
