Monument to condensed milk in Rogachev
On November 23, on the day of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Rogachev Dairy Canning Plant OJSC, the only sculptural composition in the world dedicated to condensed milk was solemnly opened in the city.
The sculpture, about four meters high, which is an exact copy of a blue-and-blue can of condensed milk, is made in the antique technique of colored glass mosaic. The author of the work is a muralist, an employee of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts Gleb Otchik, who won the sketch competition.
“Mosaic in glass is the first object in Belarus, before that this technique was not used anywhere in the exterior. This is handmade, each piece of glass was cut and selected by hand, so the creation of the composition was a very laborious process,” said Gleb Otchik.
A capsule with a message to posterity was laid at the base of the monument, which was bequeathed to be opened on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the plant.
