On June 27, the Governor Vladimir Gorodetsky took part in the opening ceremony of the monument dedicated to the history of the rescue service and the heroism of the EMERCOM of Russia employees. According to the head of the region, the monument testifies to the respect of Novosibirsk residents for the profession of rescuers and firefighters.

The event was attended by honored veterans, personnel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in the Novosibirsk Region, relatives and family members of employees who died in the line of duty.

The monument is a figure of a firefighter with a child in his arms against the background of a doorway engulfed in flames. The height of the composition is about 3.5 meters. The idea of ​​creating a monument was actively supported by the residents of the region and considered by the Presidium of the city’s town planning council.

“A large number of people are involved in eliminating the consequences of emergencies rescuers, firefighters, volunteers and often residents of the region. Therefore, it was decided that the monument should symbolize heroism, courage and dedication, ”said Anatoly Kuznetsov. The inauguration of the monument was timed to coincide with the 118th anniversary of the formation of the region’s fire brigade. Therefore, on this day, the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Novosibirsk region, their families, as well as the residents of Novosibirsk who rescued people in emergency situations, were presented with certificates of honor and letters of thanks of the Governor, as well as state and departmental awards.
