The bronze monument to most famous couple of the 20th century Grace Kelly and Rainier III appeared in April 2012 in Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of Mari El Republic of Russia. It is next to the registry office building, on the waterfront of Bruges. Noteworthy, the monument is a symbol of marital love and fidelity. The basis of the composition became the so called “the wedding of the century” – beautiful actress and Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Material – bronze, author – Andrey Kovalchuk.

An interesting fact that in Yoshkar-Ola there are more than 50 monuments and busts, listed as monuments of monumental art of national and local significance.

The opening of the monument to Hollywood actress and prince of Monaco is not an ordinary event, and especially for Russia. However, neither Grace Kelly nor Prince Rainier III have ever visited Russia. Anyway, the authorities explained the appearance of this monument. “Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco III – is a good example of a married couple, and in life, and they are worth being an example for others”.

Another sculpture by Kees Verkade is located in the Grace Kelly rosaries on the territory of Fontvieille Park. Rosary was opened June 18, 1984 with the participation of Prince Rainier III.
