The beaver monument in Bobruisk is a kind of unspoken symbol of the city. The sculpture was so loved by the locals that about 90% of the population captured it at least once in their photographs. Tourists also do not lag behind and when visiting the regional center they buy souvenirs with the image of the Bobruisk landmark. Replication is facilitated by the expressive and concise silhouette of the sculpture.

The bronze Monument to the Beaver “settled” in a crowded place near the Bobruisk market.

The rodent looks quite well-fed and stylish – it flaunts in fashionable outfits of the last century, not at all embarrassed by its plump belly. A frock coat, a butterfly, a ring, a cane and a hat contribute to the creation of an ironic image of a city dweller of the last century. A broad smile and a salutatory gesture with a raised hat speak of the good mood of the local statue. The second hand leans on the cane.

The height of the bronze symbol of Bobruisk reaches 1.7 meters without taking into account the small pedestal on which it stands, the weight is 300 kg. The author of the project was the winner of the competition, sculptor Vladimir Gavrilenko.

The installation of the bronze Beaver was timed to coincide with the opening of the Dozhinki festival in Bobruisk.

The Republic of Belarus is actively reviving ancient Slavic traditions. The ancient harvest festival has acquired the status of a state holiday. The terms of the festival are putting in order and restoration of the city from the central square to the last courtyard.

Few people know that Bobruisk gave Moscow a similar statue of the Beaver. The Moscow brother-in-arms lay imposingly on a bench near Sokolniki Park. Unfortunately, the statue of the Beaver, presented to Muscovites, was stolen.
