Singing Bremen town musicians monument

A fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm about the Bremen Town Musicians is widely popular all over the world. Children love stories of the troubadour, a dog, a cat, a rooster and a donkey who travel with music and acrobatic performances in the cities of Germany.
Since 2007, the singing sculptural composition “The Bremen Town Musicians” decorates the area next to the Palace of Culture of May 1st in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. Its author – a famous local sculptor A. Tkachuk. Cast in bronze, it depicts the characters of the famous Soviet cartoon of 1969 “The Bremen Town Musicians”. Besides, this is the first singing sculpture in the Siberian city, as three times a day a rooster crows triumphally about the presence of the cheerful Bremen Musicians here. And, to the joy of all the residents and guests of the city sounds verse of the famous song of the same cartoon, “We have arrived here for an hour …”.

The bronze monument to most famous Newlyweds of the 20th century Grace Kelly and Rainier III appeared in April 2012 in Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of Mari El Republic of Russia. It is next to the registry office building, on the waterfront of Bruges. The monument is a symbol of marital love and fidelity. The basis of the composition became the “wedding of the century” of the beautiful actress Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Material – bronze, author – Andrey Kovalchuk.

Reading students Shurik and Lidochka monument

The bronze figure of the most famous students of 1960s Shurik and Lidochka appeared May 26, 2012 in the center of Krasnodar, Russia. Shurik and Lidochka are the main characters of the iconic comedy film of the time “Shurik’s adventures”, by director Leonid Gaidai. In the role of Shurik (short for Alexander) Soviet actor Alexandr Demyanenko, and in the role of Lidochka (Lida, Lidiya) – beautiful Soviet actress Natalya Selezneva. The reading couple stands in front of the Kuban University of Technology on Krasnaya (red) street. The place for the new monument is not accidental – this is a symbol of the excellent training of students. Still the composition can be also called an ode to reading. About a dozen sculptors, architects and founders have worked on the sculptural composition for six months. Although the figures that the weigh more than 300 kg, their height hardly exceeds human growth. So, what the monument reveals?

Monument to 1930s movie star Lyubov Orlova

September 10, 2016 in Zvenigorod, was the ceremony of opening monument to the Soviet theater and film actress Lyubov Orlova. The monument was erected on the square in front of the city’s Cultural Center named after Lyubov Orlova. Sculptor Alexandr Rozhnikov and co-author Anton Tikhomirov. The monument to the native of Zvenigorod, Lyubov Orlova was created on people’s donations.
Orlov – one of the twelve oldest Russian noble families. Among the famous sons of this family was the same Grigory Orlov, who participated in the coup d’etat, which enthroned Catherine II and participated in the murder of two emperors, Peter III and Paul II. The Empress also passionately loved him, and generously gave him titles, posts and ranks.

Monument to the 1971 Soviet film Officers opened December 9, 2013 on Frunze Embankment in front of the buildings of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. The monument reveals one of the final scenes, meeting of Ivan Varavva (actor Vasily Lanovoi) with his friends spouses Alexei Trofimov and Lyubov (actors Georgy Yumatov and Alina Pokrovskaya), as well as their grandson, Ivan (actor Andrey Gromov), a cadet of Suvorov Military School. The author of the monument – sculptor Alexey Ignatov. “Officers” – the Soviet feature film, staged at the Central Film Studio for Children and Youth Film of Maxim Gorky in 1971 by director Vladimir Rogov. The images of the heroes of the composition depict actors Vasily Lanovoi (standing left), Georgy Yumatov, Alina Pokrovskaya, and Andrey Gromov.
